Key to the brief was that our client wanted a swimming pool in this small garden in west London. It had to be part of the garden but shouldn’t dominate and which you could sunbathe beside without being too overlooked. They entertained frequently and wanted a calm sculptural garden.
Raised beds constructed of oak timber were central to the design; this introduced differing levels into the garden and doubled as informal seating for guests. Multi-stem birch trees were placed at strategically along the boundary line to give more seclusion and the raised beds were planted with mixture of lawn and cobbles and sedums. A simple but effective design changed completely the look of this garden, our clients were delighted.
